A B O U T
MONOGEM is a Los Angeles–based Mexican-American artist crafting a modern bilingual fusion of R&B, pop, and Latin music in English and Spanish. Rooted in jazz and bossa nova, her sound moves between dreamy alt-pop, soulful R&B, and cinematic storytelling—creating music that feels both intimate and expansive.
Her debut bilingual album Gardenia has amassed more than 15 million streams globally, marking a pivotal moment in her artistic evolution and deepening her connection to her Mexican heritage. The project led to milestone moments including opening for Maluma at Penske Media’s LA3C Festival, a feature in Billboard’s "On The Radar Latin," and collaborations with artists including LP Giobbi. She has shared stages with Christine and the Queens, Y La Bamba, Allie X, Betty Who, Ximena Sariñana, Nilüfer Yanya, and Yuna, while earning praise from ELLE, Harper’s Bazaar, Rolling Stone, GRAMMY.com, PEOPLE, Refinery29, Good Morning America, and E! News. Her music has also appeared across film and television, including Genera+ion, Black Lightning, Élite, Rebelde, Love, Victor, Never Have I Ever, and Riverdale.
Internationally, MONOGEM has emerged as a viral breakout artist in China, where her single "Wild" has generated more than 3 billion streams across user-generated content and short-form video platforms. She is partnered with Liquid State (Tencent Music Entertainment x Sony Music) and continues to grow her audience across Rednote (小红书) and NetEase Cloud Music.
Following the release of "Lemon Tree" in 2023, MONOGEM stepped away from releasing music to focus on motherhood and to launch Cielo Sessions, a curated live music series in Malibu celebrating community, artistry, and culture. She returns in 2026 with a renewed creative vision, beginning with her cinematic reimagining of Bad Bunny’s "BAILE INoLVIDABLE." Reframed through MONOGEM’s signature atmospheric lens, the release signals the start of a new era—one rooted in identity, independence, and a deeper connection to her roots. With new music arriving throughout 2026, MONOGEM continues to carve out a distinct space where Latin culture, alternative R&B, and heartfelt storytelling converge.

Rolling Stone: Swayed by an earthy dembow rhythm — not to mention her operatic vocal prowess — Monogem’s latest track 'Soy Lo Que Soy' crystallizes the bond between her art and her Mexican American heritage.
Billboard: Whether catering in upbeat, gently inspirational synth-bop or reflective, dreamy indie-pop, MONOGEM’s approach to her gorgeous, lilting music throws genre definitions to the wind -- so it only makes sense that on her So Many Ways EP, she freely switches between Spanish and English as she crafts a release that speaks to her own journey while reaching out to those around her.
Harper's Bazaar: The new single "Soy Lo Que Soy" marks a change of pace for Los Angeles–based MONOGEM: It's the first time she's released a song in Spanish. The risk has already paid off.
KCRW: There are very few songs that haunt you immediately after hearing them only once. That’s exactly what happened the first time I heard MONOGEM’s “Soy Lo Que Soy.” Her previous work in English is also captivating, but I think Hirsh may have crafted a secret sauce recipe singing in Español.
